The 2020 Gilmour Academy Lancer Hall of Fame induction was postponed due to COVID-19. We are thrilled to now recognize the eight newest members of Gilmour’s Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2020 class is comprised of seven former student-athletes and one coach, each of whom made a lasting mark on their respective program(s).
The Class of 2020 inductees include Katy Beach ’05, Kevin Geraci ’59, Tom McCrone ’96, Bart Merkel ’10, Bekka (Simko) Morgan ’10, Paul Primeau, Jarred Smith ’06 and Billy Urban ’09.
All seven student-athletes being honored played multiple sports during their career as a Lancer. Two of the seven, Merkel and Morgan, have been selected in their first year of eligibility.
The 2020 inductees will be recognized during a special ceremony at halftime of the September 4 home football game against Hawken. The game starts at 2 p.m.
The Gilmour Academy Lancer Hall of Fame was originally established in 1971 and is intended to honor former GA varsity student-athletes and coaches who demonstrated excellence in their athletic pursuits and accomplishments. Nominations are solicited from the Gilmour community, and individuals are selected by the GA Lancer Hall of Fame committee. Former Gilmour student-athletes are eligible 10 years after their high school graduation.
The Class of 2020 brings membership in the Hall of Fame to 182 individuals.
