Chris Kosiorek is in his second season as the head coach of the Gilmour Academy football program, bringing with him almost 20 years of combined experience on the gridiron at the high school and collegiate levels. Just prior to becoming the leader of the Lancers, Kosiorek served as the defensive coordinator at Division I Eastlake North High School (2014). Prior to that experience, he was the defensive backs coach at Hiram College (2013) and the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School (2012), at which time the Lions earned a bid to the Division III state tournament.

Additionally, Kosiorek held head coaching positions at Crestwood High School (2010-12) and Mechanicsburg High School (2007-10). In his first season at Crestwood, he led the team to its best record in four years, while earning a No. 9 spot in the region for Division IV. While at Mechanicsburg, he compiled a three-year overall record of 25-10, earning a school-best 19 wins in his first two seasons. He also led the team to two Division VI state playoff appearances, which included reaching the regional finals for only the second time in school history in 2008. That same season was a benchmark year for the program with the team compiling a 12-1 overall record that included a perfect 10-0 during the regular season, as well as an Ohio Heritage Conference Championship. Kosiorek and his team finished as the top-ranked team in Region 24 with a No. 2 overall ranking in Ohio Division VI. Kosiorek was recognized as the Champaign County/News-Sun All-Area Coach of the Year and the Miami Valley Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year. Furthermore, he was named head coach of the Miami Valley Football Coaches Association All-Star Game.

Kosiorek’s coaching resume is rounded out with stints as the defensive coordinator at Twinsburg High School (1998-2007) and at Benedictine High School where he served as a defensive backs/wide receivers coach (1996-97). He was part of a Benedictine coaching staff whose teams qualified for the state tournament in back-to-back seasons, while also earning the Division III State Championship in 1996.
Kosiorek is a Youngstown, Ohio, native, having graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School where he was a First-Team All-Steel Valley linebacker and an Honorable Mention All-Northeast Ohio honoree. He went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University and is now a math teacher at Crestwood High School. Heresides in Auburn, Ohio, with his wife Erica and their three daughters, Alexis (8) and twins Lydia and Mackenzie (2).
