Rick Owens is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Gilmour Academy football program where his responsibilities include overseeing the wide receivers, as well as the defensive line.  He has several years of coaching experience at the high school level, including serving as the freshman football head coach at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (2012-13) and as the offensive line coach at nearby Beachwood High School (2013-15).

Owens was a four-year letter winner in football at Streetsboro High School before continuing his career at Hiram College where he was a wide receiver for the Terriers for two years. He is a lifelong resident of Streetsboro, Ohio.
