Mandy Hansen is in her 10th season as an assistant coach with the Gilmour Academy varsity softball team.  From 2000-07 she coached softball, volleyball and basketball at Saint Francis of Assisi School with her volleyball team earning the Cleveland Catholic Diocese City championship in 2006.

In high school, Hansen was a three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball. She earned First-Team All-Greater Cleveland Conference (GCC), First-Team All-News Herald and First-Team All-Plain Dealer in both volleyball and softball. She was the starting catcher for the two-time state champion and three-time GCC champion softball team, earning state and regional tournament most valuable player honors as a senior. She is a member of the Rebel Hall of Fame 1995 and 1996 state championship softball team.

 

Hansen earned a bachelor’s degree in pre-law from John Carroll University and is pursuing a degree in nursing at Lakeland Community College. She resides in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, with her husband of 15 years, Mark, and their three sons, Gabe (20), a sophomore at Miami University, Mark (13), a 8th grader at the Gilmour Middle School and Michael (12). She is a casualty specialist for Progressive Insurance and has worked with the company since 1997. Hansen is also an OHSAA-certified volleyball official, a member of the Northeast Ohio Volleyball Association (NEOVBA) and an active volunteer with the Jason Madachy Foundation and Autism Speaks.  She continues to play softball for a local women’s team and has been a member of several national championships at the amateur level.
