Caitlin Jakubek is in her first season as the head coach of the Gilmour Academy junior varsity girls soccer team with the 2020-21 season. Although early in her Lancer coaching career, she comes to the program with an impressive soccer background.
A goalkeeper at Walsh Jesuit High School, she was part of the Warrior team that won four consecutive district and regional championships, while also earning a 2010 Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division I State Championship and being named the 2010 Powerade National Champions. From there, she went on to play at the collegiate level for NCAA Division I University of Akron and also served as a team manager from 2013-17.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and early childhood intervention specialist, and a master’s degree in sports science and coaching. Additionally, Jakubek served as a graduate assistant with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from 2017-19.
On the coaching side, Jakubek has coached premier soccer for several years for the X-Treme Select Soccer Club for children ages 8-18. She has also coached summer camp for the Akron men’s soccer program from 2014-17.
The Akron, Ohio, native currently resides in Twinsburg, Ohio. She is employed as an LD tutor at Davey Elementary in the Kent City School District.
