The Gilmour Academy varsity volleyball team continues to rank No. 1 in both the MaxPreps and Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association (OHSVCA) Polls, as well as the News-Herald Top of the Crop. The Lancers also held steady at No. 4 in the MaxPreps Ohio Poll and at No. 12 in the national poll.

In its most recent week of competition, Gilmour earned a victory against long-time rival Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, which according to head coach Danny Coughlin, "proved to be a big win for us while preparing us for the rest of the week."

Gilmour then had the opportunity to face Padua Franciscan, which is a top five nationally ranked program, and also No. 1 amongst Division I schools in the state.

"It was a great battle, but we couldn't squeak it out," said Coughlin, "It was a great four-set loss to one of the best teams around."

The Lancers finished the week with a win against Division I Hudson to make their overall record 11-1.
