He is a longtime high school coach, having previously assisted on the gridiron at Twinsburg High School (22 years), Brookfield High School (four years) and Crestwood High School (two years). He currently serves as the varsity baseball coach at Twinsburg where he has held the position for the past 30 years. Additionally, he was an assistant with the varsity and junior varsity basketball teams at Twinsburg for 25 years.

Jones is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in education/social studies. He has been an educator in Twinsburg City Schools for 31 years. He and his wife, Jennifer reside in Kent, Ohio, and have two children, Katie (28) and Tyler (20), as well as one grandson, Easton.
