Claudia Beutel is in her 12^th year as an assistant with the Lancer girls basketball program after having served as an assistant coach for 16 years with her alma mater, Eastlake North High School, and the varsity girls basketball program.  While at North High, she coached 18 guards to All-Ohio honors.  She was also a varsity assistant at Perry High School with the volleyball program for eight seasons. 

As a high school player, Beutel helped the Rangers achieve an overall record of 64-6 in three seasons, including two undefeated regular seasons and one regional berth.  She was a team captain and a First-Team All-Ohio selection as a guard.  She continued her playing career at Cleveland State University where she finished third on the all-time leader list in assists.

The Eastlake, Ohio, native has a bachelor’s degree in biology.  She currently resides in Chardon, Ohio, with her husband of 20 years, Bob, who is the head coach of the Gilmour varsity girls basketball program.
