Katie Barrett is in her third season with the Gilmour Academy volleyball program. This year marks her first as the top assistant for the varsity program after having served the previous two years as the head coach of the junior varsity team.
She is a 2014 graduate of Miami University where she received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is in her first year as a 1st grade teacher at her alma mater Gesu School, where she previously coached for two seasons as the head coach of the 7th and 8th grade A volleyball team. Additionally, Barrett is coaching Junior Olympic volleyball through Maverick.
Back in her high school days, Barrett was a four-year letter winner at Hathaway Brown School. She served as a setter all four seasons and was a two-year team captain. She earned team Most Valuable Player honors, as well as the Blazer Award, in addition to earning all-district honorable mention.
Back in her playing days at HB, Barrett was a four-year varsity letter winner as a setter for the Blazer volleyball team. She was a two-year team captain who earned team most valuable player honors, as well as the Blazer Award and all-district honorable mention.
